I'm only good with women online

edited 2011-07-07 14:00:44 in General
No rainbow star
My first "girlfriend" (I don't think we had any idea what dating really meant): Online My second (and current) girlfriend: Online Any girl I manage to attract: Online Even worse is that I can only confirm my girlfriend and one girl who crushed on me are actually girls And worse still, the majority seem to have self esteem issues up the wazoo That really says something about me, doesn't it? Oh, and there is a gay guy online who obsesses over me (although considering he's clingy, I wonder if it's a case of me being one of the few who can tolerate him >.>)

  • Tell me about it. >.>  I'm only good with anyone online.  Like, I can barely speak to people offline, ahah~

...Which is actually kind of pathetic, really.  Ugh. >.<
  • Cheer up oi! ^_^

for the most part I'm better with people offline, it's easier to be able to understand people for me when I can hear them and see their bodies.
  • I'm better with people in meatspace coz I'm less afraid of stuff being interpreted the wrong way due to inflection and all.
  • @InsanityAddict: Was that directed at me? You trying to start something!

:3 This white text means I'm serious 100% looking for love in all the wrong places.
  • Counterclock/InsanityAddict OTP
  • Ah, back when Lost Prophets still was good.

    Has friends besides tanks now
Hey, I like their newer stuff! D:<

Though I like their older stuff too.

On-topic: While I'm not sure if I'm significantly better with women online, my interactions with people on the Internet are considerably better than in real life. Probably doesn't help that I apparently sound like fucking Stan Marsh.
  • Dude, how is that last bit not a good thing?
  • Maybe the intonation a tiny bit, but that could also be blamed on the poor mic quality.
  • You can change. You can.
I blame the poor mic myself. That said, it could be worse. Cartman levels of worse
  • What you sound like isn't as important as what you say.

    You can change. You can.
I dunno. Some people really appreciate a nice voice.

I mean, what you're saying is true but what you sound like can help.
  • Of course, what you sound like can matter, but if you're a flaming asshole, it doesn't matter if your voice could make angels weep... Or at least it shouldn't >_>(though, to some people it does)

But yeah, I'd just say to aim for Southpark fans Everest, if that's the attitude you're taking :D
  • DID SOMEONE SAY WEEPING ANGELS?

    -blink-
  • You can change. You can.
Weirdly enough, I was thinking of the Doctor when I posted that. More specifically, of the Midnight episode where a monster steals the Doctor's voice as it is calming and reassuring and all that.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
I'm better with people online. More time to think about what to say.
  • You can change. You can.
That's my favorite aspect of online communication. That and being able to correct yourself before speaking is always useful.
  • Because real-life conversations are more strict than the bible, you say something, You better live behind those words!!!!

Nah, but honestly, people don't talk every second on the day, you have time to think about what you're saying. Or if you think you don't, just calm down and ask for a second.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Although you might be able to transfer Online! You into Offline! You a little. You can't do all that self-correction stuff, but you could think of the difference in attitude you bring to the table and try to bring that to the meatspace.

I've kinda done that, it's pretty good.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
But I thought there were no women online.
  • Nah, there's just no gentlemen online. >.>

    You can change. You can.
    You called for a gentleman?
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
    Yes. So leave.
  • You can change. You can.
I don't follow your line of reasoning there, so I'll just kindly ask for you to politely not talk while I romance this lady.

    Yeah, you do that.
  • Juan.

    It's a trap.
  • This one is only able to hold a half-decent conversation online. In real life - not so much.

(sigh) Not to mention that this one is so ugly that whatever she has to say is irrelevant. This one sees no reason for appearance to matter in a non-romantic context, yet for some reason it does. Blast it.
  • You can change. You can.
@Chagen: I'm aware. I just joke like that around her.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Hey, at least you don't attract male jailbait online. >_<

The majority of my dating/flirting was done in college, though I think that was mostly due to the type of woman likely to go to college versus the kind of girls you find in college
