I like a lot of things the Internet hates

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
Yes, I realize that the internet is not a cohesive hivemind that loves and hates all the same things. But it seems like I'm always running into things that are generally disliked that I enjoy. I enjoyed the first and third Transformers movie. I liked season 6 of Buffy. Armageddon is one of my favorite movies. I liked the American Godzilla. I liked season 2 of Haruhi. Yes, even Endless Eight. I thought the end of the first FMA anime was really good. I like the Star Wars expanded universe. I dunno, maybe I just have a really really strong willing suspension of disbelief or something.

  • The only good thing to come out of the American Godzilla movie was the Cartoon.
  • We Played Some Open Chords and Rejoiced, For the Earth Had Circled the Sun Yet Another Year
I don't think that Endless Eight was bad, per se, it was just annoying that Kadokawa would troll the fanbase like that.

But it's okay, as the Disappearance movie was pure gold.

I liked the first Transformers movie too.  Though not so much the second, though I didn't think it was as terrible as people make it out to be.  Haven't seen the third.
  • Personally, I think the haters just tend to be very loud, thus making it seem like they're more representative of general opinion than they are.

To give my input on your opinions, I thought the first Transformers movie was fun enough for a dumb action movie, but the second showed that more isn't necessarily better, to put it kindly. Haven't seen the third one.

Disappearance is one of the best things ever.

I thought the second Transformers movie was awful. But I really liked the third.
  • Hey, I like season 6 of Buffy.  And season 7.  And seasons 5, 4, 3...

    ...I like Buffy. >.>  A lot.
  • We have entered in to an endless recursion of time.

@Moerin Yeah, I didn't get most of the hate for season 6. I thought that apart from the way the magic addiction thing was handled, the season as a whole was good.
  • Welp, all that had to be said was said, so it's personal input time!

I enjoyed the first and third Transformers movie.

I'm unable to not enjoy something that has awesome giant transforming robots reducing each other to scraps on screen, unless the rest of the movie is astoundingly bad (see: Transformers 2).

I liked season 2 of Haruhi. Yes, even Endless Eight.

The second season was fine (even if I didn't watch EE), but the production values were clearly worse than those of the first one.

I thought the end of the first FMA anime was really good.
    It was, haters gonna hate.

  • I thought the end of the first FMA anime was really good.
    It was, haters gonna hate.

I haven't seen FMA yet, but wasn't the main reason people didn't like it just that it doesn't stick to the manga?

Which is the dumbest reason for not liking something ever?
  • Oh right, the first FMA anime... I didn't just think the ending was good, I love Conquerer of Shamballa.  How the hell can you not love the Elrics beating up Nazis?

And, uh... The live action Transformers movies... The first was okay, I guess.  The second... Not as good, but still enjoyable.

...The third was so bad it killed my imagination for a while. >.<  Easily the worst film I have seen in a long, long, looooong time. >.<

...Ahem.  Aaand... I never got around to seeing season 2 of Haruhi for some reason.  Which is odd, as I loved the first season, and I love the novels even more... Hmmm.
  • >I didn't just think the ending was good
    >I
    love Conquerer of Shamballa.

You are... entitled to your opinion.

One foot in front of the other, every day.
^^^ No, it's because that ending is just a setup for the movies and is a bit wishy-washy considering the emotional roller-coaster that came beforehand.

That said, Mustang's heroics were pretty awesome.

    Ah, got it.

Eh, the ending is not really a setup for the movies, it's just open. If anything the movies feel tacked on, made only to give the series a "conclusion" it didn't need.

But I digress, this thread was about UNPOPULAR MEDIA OPINIONS, after all.

  • The League Of Extraordinary Gentleman movie was better than the comic.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
The first generation of Pokemon games were slow, glitchy pieces of shit
  • --ahem--

    If I may.

    NOT UNPOPULAR
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Perhaps, but the first generation of Pokemon glitches worked easily to our advantage.

Don't pretend you never did the 100 Rare Candy trick.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
What about hating things the internet likes?

    Oh wait, that's a dime a dozen.

^ Let's not have this thread turn into that. >_>

I didn't even realize that this was an Unpopular Opinions thread until someone pointed it out.
  • Oh, the NOT UNPOPULAR guy?  I remember him, pretentious little twat that he was.

...Oh wait, sorry,  I think that opinion is...

    NOT UNPOPULAR
  • Kichigai birthday!!
I never did the 100 rare candies trick. I was a pussy that thought my game could get ruined forever if I did things like that.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
I did it like a thousand times.

    Never corrupted a save.
  • Who cares if the internet hates / loves something? It's comprised heavily of socially inept freaks that are horrendously out of touch with the real world anyway. Therefore, their opinions do not matter.

    You're welcome.
  • When in Turkey, ROCK THE FUCK OUT
    I like Casey Anthony

  • I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
    Hahahahaha.
