    Yeah, I would avoid doing that, especially since it has been established that the staff at TV Tropes would be bothered by it.

    I think part of the issue here is that while NSFW threads are avoidable enough, one's avatar appears throughout the forum and is not as easy to ignore. I suppose one could use an ignore script, but I think that it is pretty inconsiderate to tell other people to do that when it is actually one's responsibility to try not to bother others. Of course, I have some bias here since I reported the original IJBM thread in question.
