How big bads tend to have dark colours and look threatening

Why can't I battle a pink and neon green floral patterened fluffy rabbit who is annoyed that the universe never takes it seriously and is trying to destroy said universe to finally be seen as a threat?

Seriously though. What IS up with that trend?

The big bads need something new to wear being how the heroes like to work dark colors these days too. The Matrix, for example, Neo wears black trenchcoat, Smith wears black and white three piece suit, Morpheus wears a green tie and a dark purple vest... OMG, Morpheus was the true villain all along!
