  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
I agree a real life case can take months and even years, but I don't think Castle making jokes about the same case for five episodes would be funny.

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    I love the Wire.

I really really really will watch it when I get a way to...But even so, you didn't refute my point.
  • You can change. You can.
My point is that yes, you can make jokes about a case for five episodes. In fact, the Wire does it for 12-13 episodes.

The Wire does, is the character of "Rick Castle" an ensemble made of various characters which can make similar jokes with different characters the whole time? I thought it was just Nathan Fillion doing a snarky mystery writer. I wasn't talking about Castle's cast back then either.

Ah, well. Then, McNulty does it for 12-13 episodes per season.

Fair enough, although I think that your gripe is more with shows of episodic nature compare with arc based shows than the trappings of a procedural on itself.
  • You can change. You can.
Well, it's not just that, although that's my main reason. My problem is the way detectives are glorified in the whole process. Not to mention that there's barely any actual coonsequences to their most...duious actions, and they get away with things that could normally ruin a case.

Although admittedly, as Castle is not police, it doesn't hurt the show's believability as hard as, say, motherfucking CSI and Caruso's OTT-ing the fucking hell outta everything.

Castle's show using dubious methods? Hahahahahahahahaha,

Shark, Juan_Carlos.

Nah, Castle doesn't count. I should have mentioned that. I was thinking more of stuff like grrr, law and order and how Stable solves everything via psycologically abusing their suspects. Shit like that gets you out of the police station, yannow

Being two years on SVU gets you kicked out of SVU IRL. About Law&Order, I watch those shows a lot, but my favorite is Robert Goren, now that's a psychologically abusive detective, who is considered a nutjob because of his methods.
  • You can change. You can.
Goren...name sounds familiar. Then again, I've only watched casually, and I've not enjoyed what I've seen.

Vincent D'onofrio, or edgar the bug from the first MIB film. His show is L&O Criminal Intent, the spin is that it focuses both on Goren and Eames trying to solve the murder and as well on the suspects during the investigation. Bobby Goren has a stupidly complicated dark and troubled past that catches up to his and makes up some of the few arc stories in that show.

Ah, Criminal Intent. Gritty Columbo. I kinda like Goldblum in there, but I never felt compelled to watch.

And yeah, I kinda want to watch Shark. But that's because James Woods is amazing.

Goldblum was as manipulative as D'onofrio, but not as overt or a jackass.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
