MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I'd say even on the surface Twilight is pretty problematic. I mean, I needed heavy drinking to get through it and my roommate was still complaining that I threw the book when a line pissed me off, which was like every three pages.

I tried re-imaginging Twilight where Bella was a would-be reporter and was digging up weird stuff about Forks and uncovered the ancient Vampire-Lycan war and her personal Azoth made her the center of the war that would tip the balance with Edward and Jacob being interested in her personally and wanting to save her from the war.
  • You can change. You can.
Speaking of which, I regard a good cartoon as something you can enjoy on the same level or higher years after you've first watched it. The thing about quality discussions is that they tend to lean towards extreme ends of the spectrum, so what about things that seem good at first, but do not have as much replay value afterward?

Replay is in fact one of the easiest way of seeing how enjoyable a thing is.

It does not measure quality, though.
  • It would be a factor, I'm guessing. In fact, is quality holistic or reductionist?

Ironically, I feel you can actually learn a lot from a bad movie, sometimes even more than from a good movie.

You can see where things fall apart on a directorial or narrative level whereas sometimes masterpieces are too tight to see the seams.
  • Well that explains part of why Tim Burton's Ed Wood made such an impact.

I actually think Ed Wood is his best film. I guess that explains some things.
  • That real-life celebrities are a better inspiration for him than fantasy?

Though I definitely consider it my favourite film; even if it may not be the most influential or meaningful, it has a message most relevant to my personality.

Oh I think it has meaning for anyone who has creative aspirations. As much as I rag on Burton for his failures, calling it his best film is no light compliment.
