    OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
As I understand it, the Vita will support downloadable PSP games.
  • Ah.

I guess I can use that.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
You can pick us PS2s off ebay for like thirty bucks.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
    I thought you had a PS3.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^Only the first run of the PS3 plays PS2 games.
  • I have one of the PS3s that cannot play PS2 games.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
    Ah.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Remember folks, it's only unethical to screw over your consumer base is you're not a multinational corporation!
  • .....Where did that come from?

^^Um...you do realize that the PS2 emulation was the main reason why the PS3 cost so much at first, right? They couldn't slash the price without removing it.

Also, the PS2 emulation was done through having a whole PS2, hardware and all in the PS3. That was the only way the emulation could work.
  • I am Dr. Ned who is totally not Dr. Zed in disguise.
You'd think they'd have been able to design it so it could read PS2 stuff without that rubbish.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
That sounds like... really really bad design in the first place.

Okay, they're not evil. Just incompetent.

    /joking.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
You're vastly underestimating the difficulty of emulation.

Well I dunno Sony managed to design the PS3 and PS2 I'd expect with that degree of expertise that they'd maybe be able to cope with such an issue :s
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Any guesses on how much processor power it takes to emulate Pong exactly?

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
Yeah, I mean it's not like the Wii, X-box 360, and PS2 managed it without being more expensive than one of god's testicles.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
As I understand it, the PS2 has some weird hardware.
  • a little muffled
The 360's backwards compatibility is...not perfect.

The Wii manages it by basically just being a GameCube anyway.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    Not perfect, but present.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
And it's that flawed for compatablity between systems far more similar than a PS3 and PS2.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
I remember when the PS2 was released and people in the Spanish news said that it had a chip that was also used to control misiles (I think this is true, actually) and they used it as an argument for the videogames=evil thing.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
^From what I know about toy manufacturing, this is actually quite common.

    ^^
  • Kichigai birthday!!
Now I wonder what would happen if a Gamecube was hit with a missile.

It would be like in Dragon Ball and the like when they shoot a huge kame to the strong guy and he's there standing smug as fuck and there's a huge crater around him
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
That's happened to a Game Boy before. It's working fine.
  • Couldn't they have just like...took a PS2 and then, I dunno...added more to it?
  • Likes cheesecake unironically.

That reminds me of a freeware adventure game, where you have to assemble a rocket to destroy a meteor that threatens to crash on Krefeld (where the game takes place). An Iraqi PS2 is necessary to control it.
  • I have a ps2 and a PSP but I've yet to locate someone on Kijiji who has a copy of Persona 4. I'm just glad they've rereleased the other games 10 times over.
