Pokemon is hardly something that "slipped under the radar", I know, but how about the Mystery Dungeon games?
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
Oh, and Tales series games. Abyss and Vesperia in particular.
  • You can change. You can.
See, I said Tales and what did I get? "0/10 Troll harder"

On Dark Souls and mathematics: you can theoretically beat anything at level one. The point of increasing your stats is basically to let you do it quicker, thus making mistakes less likely.

    He wanted JRPGs

why are you mentioning Megaman (Unless it's Coommand Mission) or Star Fox?

    Oh, I missed that somehow.

Oh well.  Enjoy the list anyway.  It's mostly JRPGs anyway.  And the ones that aren't are still faggy anime games, and you'll get to learn more about obscure game series along the way.
  • Thane of rum-guzzling and necromancy

Does Red Alert 3 count? It has a weeaboo side with gundams and magical schoolgirls in it.

    /totally trolling

  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
Oh, I forgot about Black Sigil: Blade of the Exiled in the western animesque category. It's a western-made JRPG.
  • a little muffled
    Golden Sun etc etc.

GMH already mentioned it, but you know. He mentioned many things.

Quick overview of the ones that I actually am familiar with (and are JRPGs or SRPGs):

Fire Emblem: SRPG series by Intelligent Systems and Nintendo, on various systems.

Golden Sun: JRPG series by Camelot and Nintendo, on GBA and DS.

Metal Walker: weird little JRPG by Capcom for GBC(GB?), wherein battles are done by bouncing your mech around a battlefield.

Mega Man Battle Network / Rockman.EXE: action JRPG series with collectibles by Capcom, for GBA.  In an alternate universe, Mega Man is a "net navi" computer program who goes around cyberspace busting viruses and dueling other such navis.  No relation annoying fairies or James Cameron brainchildren.

Phantasy Star: JRPG and MMORPG series published by Sega.  Best known for being set in a sci-fi/futuristic setting.  Basic series is for Genesis.

Riviera, Yggdra Union, and another game whose name I forgot now: Part of an Atlus GBA trilogy called "Dept. Heaven".  I know little else other than this and the fact that these are JRPGs or something like that.

Shining Force: Sega's SRPG answer to Fire Emblem.  Shining Soul is an action-RPG spinoff subseries.  Multiplatforum; Shining Soul is on GBA.

Seiken Densetsu / [*] of Mana: Action RPG series by Square (now Square-Enix); multiplatform.

Illusion of Gaia, Soul Blazer, Terranigma: Trilogy of related SNES JRPGs/action RPGs by Enix (now Square-Enix).

Final Fantasy: Most famous JRPG series worldwide; created by Square (now...oh you know by now anyway); multiplatform.

Dragon Quest: Most successful JRPG series in Japan; created by Enix; multiplatform.

Tales of [*]: JRPG series by Namco that characteristically runs battles kinda like fighting game battles--with combos, real-time action, and such.

Summon Night: The GBA offerings are JRPG series with Tales-style gameplay.  I don't know anything else.

Lufia, a.k.a. Estpolis Denki: JRPG series developed by Neverland and published by Taito, Squenix, Natsume, and Atlus.  Generally features a mysterious waif character who turns out to be very important.

Energy Breaker: Little-known SNES SRPG also by Neverland; lacks full English translation; contains one of the prettiest music tracks from the Lufia series (Lufia's theme, a.k.a. "Priphea Flowers" theme).

Chrono Trigger, Radical Dreamers, Chrono Cross: Famous JRPG series by Square.  SNES installment made multi-character abilities and active-time battling famous.  PS1 installment contains loads of characters and controversial plot continuation.  Series premise involves time travel (and later interdimensional travel).

Suikoden: multiplatform JRPG series by Konami, roughly based around a certain Chinese legend.

Wild ARMs: multiplatform JRPG series by Media.Vision, distinctive for its western-American setting.  The ARM is a gun that goes by different names and is a key plot device (I think).

Vagrant Story: Some sort of action RPG by Square I think, on PS1.  Involves a dark atmosphere and muscular bishonen.  I'm not sure.

Etrian Odyssey: Atlus dungeon crawler series on DS.  Best known for spawning the F.O.E. meme.

Disgaea: Nippon Ichi JRPG series (multiplatform).  Best known for completely insane HP and damage numbers and for a character named Etna.

Nostalgia: DS JRPG by Red Entertainment and Matrix Software, published by Tecmo and Ignition Entertainment.  Takes place in 19th-century Earth, in various locations.  Very traditional JRPG in style, but you advance skills by investing skill points, and you go around the world map not on foot but via an airship, which you upgrade to travel farther.

Atelier: JRPG series about alchemists and item crafting; I know little else.

Valkyria Chronicles: PS3 SRPG involving animesque characters battling it out in a European World War setting of some sort.  That's about all i know.

Pokémon: by Game Freak and Nintendo, the most successful collectibles/mons JRPG series to date, on GB/GBC/GBA/DS, with spinoff titles on other systems.  Over 400 (over 500?) creatures to capture, battle, train, evolve, and more.  Many activities.  Become the best, beat all the rest, and try to catch 'em all*!  (* No longer officially advertised as of recent releases, as there are just too damn many.)

Recettear: Dibbler Item shop sim in a JRPG fantasy world.  Better than it sounds.  By doujin developer EasyGameStation; localized by Carpe Fulgur; available on various digital distribution services.

Chantelise: Action JRPG (probably?) by the same people as Recettear; it is effectively the latter's prequel.

Skies of Arcadia: I think this is an RPG series for Dreamcast involving sky pirates.

To be or not to be? That is the question.
glennmagusharvey: For Dept Heaven, you forgot Knights in the Nightmare, Gungnir, Yggdra Unsion, Gloria Union, and Blaze Union.
