I was just talking about Yiddish space cats, steam-powered gatling guns and APCs...

Glaives are better.
For my D&D game.

And I have no idea how to properly stat an APC for a medieval/Renaissance-level fantasy game. Or make sure my powergaming player doesn't derail the campaign by using his Yiddish space cat to pilot the Land Raider analog into a volcano or something.

Now, I've played exactly one RPG. And while my friend may have hated it, going off rails was the best part.

Right, but what if I break the system? If I unbalance everything, and make the resulting encounters too easy because they've got a fucking Land Raider in a fantasy setting?

Like I said, I have played exactly one RPG in my life, so I've no idea what any of that means.

Try incorporating a little bit of everything, I guess?

Improv a way to not make it super powerful.

Most vehicles are easy to hit but difficult to destroy. Make a weak spot or make it lose effectiveness after certain amounts of damage.

Make them roll for "success checks". If it's lower than the number you designate, it doesn't work. Simple solution to complicated actions.

    Sounds good. I'll try that.
