I actually lost my eye this morning!

edited 2011-06-15 03:10:14 in General
So I have a glass eye. I woke up this morning, didn't notice anything was afoot.  So I check my e-mails and stuff and eventually I start rubbing my eyes, only to realise. WAIT.  WHERE THE FUCK IS MY LEFT EYE!

I had a frantic dash around the house to try and find it, honestly I was crapping myself. As it turns out, I had taken it out to clean it last night (though I really can't remember doing that) and had left it in the bathroom.

  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Woops.
  • ... Oh this just gets better.

So you're a pirate, as well as all the other funny stuff that I somewhat made up?

I feel like this has officially become a ninjas vs pirates battle.
  • No. No it hasn't. Do not make comments about my eye. It's a sensitive issue.
  • You can change. You can.
Ouch...sorry to hear that, Conductor. At least you got it back.

Sensitive issue?  ... Two other words come to mind.
In any case... you brought it up, Cap'n Pugwash.

  • Is there such a thing as prosthetic eye fashion? I remember seeing on TV once a bro who got fed up with all the people staring at him and commissioned a prosthetic eye with a watch battery in it that lit up at night. It looked really neat.
  • O'course there is.  There was a guy hanging around Camden for a while who just had a yellow smiley face ball in one eye-socket.
  • ~♥YES♥~! I *AM* a ~♥cupcake♥~! ^_^
Whoa, you seriously have a glass eye? How did you lose your first one?

I've almost lost an eye or two a lot of times myself; fortunately they are both still there.

  • Just a natural birth defect.
  • ~♥YES♥~! I *AM* a ~♥cupcake♥~! ^_^
But you were still born with an eyesocket? Birth defects do some pretty crazy stuff, don't they?

The most that I've ever had to worry about is my flat feet. Real sorry about your eye, bro.

  • ...what does an eyesocket feel like?
  • I was born with an eye, but it was all funky and led to a lot of bullying so I had it sliced out and replaced withe the glass one.

The technology is actually astounding, they take out the eye and put a marball in it's place, then they let the muscle heal hover and I have a white cap which is basically a hard contact lens that goes on top. So my artifiicial eye moves along with my real one.

    AHR: spongy.

    Has friends besides tanks now
I think glass eyes are pretty cool, but if I ever lost one of my eyes, I would probably wear an eyepatch and monocle (I'm scared enough at the thought of contacts, and generally just don't like stuff getting in/near my eyes).

I'm sorry, but that's pretty awesome. Your eye MOVES?

    That is indeed astounding.

^^ See for me, in the time between getting the cap (which shockingly enough was hand painted) and the surgery. I had to wear dark glasses everywhere.

And yeah it is pretty cool, Anonym XD It isn't perfect 1:1 movement, but it's good enough.

  • ... Dude.

You're squicking me out now Pugwash.
  • Spongey?

    ...ewwwwww
  • You can change. You can.
You people are way too soft and squeamish.
  • We've all got our weaknesses, Ju an.
I love blood and guts all over the place. Especially blood-bukkake (I'm sure you can figure out what I mean).  But eyes are a no-go.

  • They're somethin' else.
I think that If I ever lost an eye somehow, I'd vouch for an eyepatch, either pirate or medical.

If I ever lost an eye...... well, folks wouldn't know anyway since I wear sunglasses all the time when I'm out.
I'd probably lower them a lot to just sorta stare at people with the socket and freak them out. I already try to freak out the mundies enough as it is. Serves 'em right for staring.
