Superman and the Flash.

Their races always bug me. It bugs me that their should even be an argument about who is the fastest, Superman or Flash. Superman is strong, fast, can fly, can shoot lasers out his eyes, can freeze things with his breath or blow things away, but all the Flash is...is fast.

Oh sure, he has a greater variety of things he can do WITH his speed, but I still think, given that it's his trump card, running fast should be something the Flash is better at that than Superman.

    The Flash is really the prime example of how to take a simple gimmick (running fast) and pushing it beyond anything anyone thought it could do (running fast enough to outrun his own death).

    And there's SEVERAL issues where it's told or implied The Flash slows down to race Superman. Since it's for charity, he'd rather give a good show of a tight race rather than truly trouncing Superman.

    Yeah but doing that kinda invalidates the point of a race... It's like being a car race and letting your opponent be in your passenger seat coz his car sucks ;-P Slowing down does give people a better show of an "even" match without anyone realizing The Flash is doing it.
