"The Amazons have attacked England, and Her United Kingdom".

...Wow DC...just...fucking wow. Would it kill you to do even the tiniest fucking bit of research? The UK isn't England's property. England is a PART of it, as are Scotland, N.Ireland and Wales. None of them OWN each other you stupid fucks. Needless to say, I will not be spending a single penny on Flashpoint any longer!

Could be "her" meaning the Queen.
  • Possibly, but there was no mention of the Queen in the passage. So I'm taking it to assume that "her" refers to England as an entity.
  • Wait, I thought England did own the UK....it's always portrayed as the "main boss" of it across the pond.
  • That's cause he has to represent his country while his bros are rowdy all day.
  • a little muffled
@Chagen: Presumably that would be because that's where the government is. But no, England doesn't "own" the UK any more than...well, actually, there isn't really a US analogue since the US decided to put their capital outside of any of the states in order to avoid exactly that kind of connotation, but that's a rather uncommon situation.

DC deserves at least one U.S. House representative and one U.S. Senator.
  • Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand once again Chagen proves that he knows nothing of Britain, you do that a lot bro.

But no, the UK is not "owned" by England, yes the House of Parliament is there, as is the Royal Residence. But, did you know that the first King to hold both the Scottish and the English crown, was King James. A Scottish King and it was one of his progeny that became the first Queen of Britain. So yeah.

I mean, Chagen's mistake is forgivable as he's just the victim of a poor educational system but when it comes to professional stuff like this, they could at least check. I mean, Grant Morrison couldn't have been too far away, they could have asked HIM.

    It just bugs me.
