you know what? It was a mistake to actually bring in the logic of the nightmare films.

Simply put, Freddy in a straight-up fistfight doesn't make sense. Freddy's whole thing is that he's really powerful, plays with his victims, and is a vaudevillian bully.  He makes sense as an omnipresent terror, but not someone to punch.
