When National Socialism/Socialist/Nazism/Nazi is used as shorthand for 'bad'.

Inside, too dark to read
It makes debates regarding politics/ideologies/etc very painful when one side has this mentality.

I gotta say, I did not expect that OP.
  • See also, "fascist" used to mean basically anyone in some sort of authority who's intolerant/a bully. I've just been reading a book on fascism and apparently people were complaining about this sort of thing as far back as the '30s.

@OP: Agreed.  It's similar to the fallacy that "A, who I trust, said B is a liar.  Therefore, if B said statement C, C must be false."

Quoted. For. Truth.  Real. Freaking. Truth.
  • No rainbow star
Only a NAZI SOCIALIST would make this thread!

...Ok, now I got that out of my system

Isn't the whole basis of Nazism bad? Care to clear any misconceptions?
  • You can change. You can.
no. Nazism entails much more than just lol, discrimination.
  • I think the point is, that just because Nazism is bad, this doesn't mean you can call everything you think is bad "Nazi". The word has a specific meaning.

The fallacy is that not EVERYTHING the Nazis did was bad. The Nazis enacted strong animal cruelty laws but that doesn't make kicking puppies okay.

The Holocaust and invading Poland (etc) were evil, and they would've been evil even if it wasn't the Nazis who did them.

    EDIT; Also:

@Bradamante: You don't agree with Rott ever? Aren't you dating him?
  • You can change. You can.
Fairly sure it's this thing we humans do call joking, BlackHumor.
