    I'm not sure how legitimate the notion of the government "creating jobs" if someone has a job it’s because they can do something that someone else wants done. Not because the magic economic fairy from the west has the power to make new jobs appear out of thin air. Businesses have to for example balance profit and partition currency between wages, prices, gaining resources and materials, and personal profits. You upset the equilibrium of any of them and they all reallocate. For example raising the minimum wage or increasing tax on the profits will result in the prices being raised to compensate. Lowering the tax burden could have an effect of lowering prices and increasing wages and benefits to the employees. Instituting a price cap may result in either lower wages or lower quality goods.

    and in explaining that principle I forgot to explain how it relates to employment. Again this has to do with balancing costs. Let’s look at raising the minimum wage for instance. I have $100 to partition among my staff. Small figures just to make it simple. Let's say the minimum wage is $5. Not going in to the wage system as that would make the math a lot more intricate. So in this case I could afford to lease 20 employees and generate jobs for all of them. Now lets say it's raised to $10 I have a few options. Lower the quality of the goods or services, raise the prices on the goods or services, or fire half of my workers. This puts me in a very tough position for balancing the system. I think you can see how price caps also affect this.
