If you have an email ending in @hotmail.com, @live.com or @outlook.com (or any other Microsoft-related domain), please consider changing it to another email provider; Microsoft decided to instantly block the server's IP, so emails can't be sent to these addresses.
If you use an @yahoo.com email or any related Yahoo services, they have blocked us also due to "user complaints"

My school's filter system.
It doesn't exactly do anything.
I have to wonder why it tells me that my session has been recorded and logged if I have never been reprimanded. I can try to enter like 50 porn links, get rejected every time and told that the administration knows about this.....and I'll never get in trouble.
While looking up old threads of mine here, I ended up getting blocked from entering one that had "sex" in the title. At least, I assume that's why. The entire rest of the site is perfectly fine. And I'm also certain I've entered threads on forums before that had "sex" in the title, and I never was blocked. So it's also inefficient....

In seriousness, though, your story follows one that I just heard from a meatspace friend, who has an assignment to research the Occupy and Tea Party movements, and she discovered that the Occupy Wall Street site is blocked.
It's just wrong when a school blocks sites that are opposed to it politically. My own, thankfully, doesn't do that.
Like, even MSPA was blocked.
My school only seems to filter popular sites.
Which is why I can go on here right. This place is ridiculously niche. Same way I can go on Aveneca, even though it's a forum--who the hell besides me in this school would know of an Swedish Conlanging forum that is conducted mainly in English?
Closest they'll come is throttling a connection if people are streaming crap continually, but it's all bandwidth and blind to specific content.
