I don't know who half these people are. Snowbull? Tnophelia? Occono?
And about half a dozen threads are "drama" threads about TVTropes and TVTropes people.
This thread was rather intriguing, though.
I also wasn't aware that the Simpsons porno parody was over a year old. Man, even if Minecraft (!) has been around that long, the Internet has changed immensely in a year.

Tnophelia is Vorpy, if that rings any bells.
Occono and Snowbull were guys from the TvT fora who went off their merry ways during our shitposty days
Interesting. I see that we've changed quite a bit; we're probably the most serious-media-discussions place between the three TVT spinoff fora, while Heapers' Hangout has taken up the wonderposting role and BTL has taken up the complain about stuff role. Used to be that we were the wonderposting AND complaining forum.
And nothing of value was lost.
Indeed so. I'd like to think HH and BTL will (or would, depending on their lifespan) evolve into something similar to us.
Currently, I'd say HH's the closest one, but it still has some issues here and there that bother me and keep me away so.
Well, I actually think a lot of the inane complaints gave this place a more informal--and at least to some people, including myself, inviting--atmosphere. Like, we do have several megathreads now and I know some people are hesitant to do much with Yack Fest on TVTF because there are a lot of intimidating megathreads. Also, I (as a site admin) was hoping to offer people something other than just media discussions...though it seems that being the place for media discussions (beyond the TVTF itself, which has its own problems) has actually been a pretty good thing anyway, paving the way for lots of, well, detailed and thought-provoking discussions. Though the membership of the site has also been a bit limited, I think.
Huh, I pictured ourselves using Tropespeak more often than we actually did.
Also, snowclones.
Beyond The Lampshade, the website Anne made to fix TV Tropes and, more realistically, bitch about it, and, more recently, just hang around and stuff.
And yet everything I can think is "Geez, where did all the time go?" Strangely enough, while it seems that the year went over ridiculously quickly, it still feels like IJBM was here for a long time already. Does it really only exist since January 2011?
Honestly, I can't see myself being here, on TVT or on HH in a year anymore. My life will radically change then and I won't have much time to randomly hang around in the internet. In the best case (in which I'll get a job), that is.
Mind you, I said something similar multiple times already... But if I'm right, I wonder if somebody sees my posts in two years (unlikely, considering that I post only rarely, but still) and wonders who I was. And why the hell I bitch about the site and still stayed for a while.
Me too.
Also, I actually forgot about snowbull.
CountryPumpkin,

I am definitely glad that we seem to have gotten passed that. It might just be the case that a lot fewer people here care about TV Tropes these days though.
glennmagusharvey,

I can agree with the first thing you said. Comparing discussions on IJBM II to those in say OTC or a debate forum seems to lend support to that claim. You might be right about the forum being inviting too, but I feel like that is something for new users to judge rather than old ones.
Nyarly,

I think it might be better to not concern yourself with stuff like that since it is not really something you can change (short of blanking all of your posts).
Also, even if you do get a job or whatever, you can still probably post here or on HH occasionally. I guess you might not have the time to get super invested in everything, but I doubt that commenting periodically will be too time-consuming.
