Title says it all. Fanon wikis are messy, eyeball-melting, and filled with sockpuppets. Exempli gratia:

At least in the case of the Sonic fanon wiki, I think the problem is the fanon, not the wiki.

I agree in that case, but in other cases - such as the Star Wars Fanon Wiki - the wiki/Wikia is poorly run.

Well I'm not surprised that a wikia is poorly run. It depends entirely on fan contributions. People have to take time out of their own busy lives to do stuff. Right now, even the 100% Orange Juice wikia is severely out of date, albeit partly due to the rate of updates.

As a general rule, the more obscure the subject of the wiki, the more poorly-maintained it is.

There are some good ones. The Transformers Wiki is pretty great, but that's mostly because they keep a heavy air of mockery and self-awareness

Oh, I thought this was about wikia sites, because those are normally run by fans, and they're mostly quite accurate. Fanon is about, well, unofficial material.
