    Logically, "cunt" should be about as offensive as calling someone a "prick" or "asshole." For some reason, though, here in the US it's considered to be akin to calling someone a racial slur.

    The moniker 'slut' is for me promiscuity without responsibility or respect for the self. Dressing thrashy while the clothes or colours don't suit you at all(too much make-up, etc.), cheating on someone, get-drunk-have-sex-regret-the-morning-after, and treating it like a prestige thing, that sort of thing. There's nothing bad about promiscuity, provided you take responsibility.

    The first notion: it's respect for the self, sorta, just like grooming and taking care of your appearance.

    The second notion: one can easily like the idea of a promiscues lifestyle, but fail to take responsibilities, as keeping to their standards even while sloshed, or not make it clear that a fling is a fling(though the other party is also to blame for assuming too much).
