    Mainly because I know they squick people out so knowing the details and being able to quote stuff helps, also because parasitology is fascinating.

    Also more fascination: 

    The fly doesn't need to lay the eggs on you at all, they can be carried by flies such as mosquitoes.
    When they bite the egg falls off onto the skin and develops.

    So avoid all flies, or have larvae burrow into your body.

    Habitats for botfly species are worldwide, however obviously not all will survive to grow in human flesh.

    Some are specialised for certain mammals, such as the ones that some rodents can acquire that eat away the testes and ovaries.

    I have absolutely no reaction to this thread at all.

    That's not saying that I'm so horrified I can't make a suitable reaction. What I'm saying is that I really am not being affected by the things said in this thread.
