  • Nah, I've seen your pics. A bit of make-up, the right clothes, and you'd make a pretty decent trap...
  • in my case a LOT of makeup mostly vanishing cream.

He still looks like a flat-chested girl. :/

Well he is outright stated to be girly enough to convince women of that in the manga so...

    > Shinji

Which one are y'all talking about?  And have y'all been talking about the same one all this time?

    > picture of supposed trap

"His" waist is too thin.  I declare this character to be female.

    > women's suits

For some reason I misread this as "women's swimsuits".

I'm not seeing where this logic came from.

Though he does have an inconsistent body shape sometimes in the anime...
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.

Evangelio's Shinji. And no, we haven't been talking about him all the time.

So THIS is what Hayate the Combat Butler is about?

I am gonna buy it now kthnxbai.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
Cygan: I wasn't sure whether y'all were talking about FSN Shinji or NGE Shinji.

I've never watched FSN. Or Evanjelion, actually.
  • Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I should really finish Fate/stay night.

    The VN, I mean.

    "FSN shinji"

...if someone finds him moe i'm going to break a pencil.
  • Likes cheesecake unironically.
It won't come as surprise, but I like Moe. However, it is sexist, even when some people are so uncomfortable with that, that they try to deny it. That some male characters get that treatment doesn't change this.

Yes, I just wrote something on-topic, despite the derail. Sue me.

Also, I have the strange urge to read Hayate the Combat Butler now...
  • @GMH: Could be a corset or girdle or something.

@Vorpy: Why do that when you could just torrent it
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
It is sexist, despite the fact that it is not mistreating one gender over the other?

You can't put torrents on your bookshelf.
  • You can if you print them out.
  • You can change. You can.

Think of it like this: There are many female action heroes, right? But are there more FAH than male action heroes?

Or put your laptop in the bookshelf

^ Is it sexist how there's more tall men than tall women?

  • Cygan, please use "s or those blockquotes or bold the text from other people, cause I is getting teh confuse.

That's an illogical comparison. You're comparing a physical characteristic from real life to an archetype in fiction as well as each other's ubiquitosity...

What I meant is simply that just because there are exceptions doesn't change the fact that the majority of mo chracters are indeed female. And this is sexist. Why? Because they are the majority. If it was really "fair" or based upon equality then there'd be more balance, but the difference between the number of female moe characters and male is huge. Beyond belief.

Again, this is the same as the difference between female action heroes and male action heroes, where the majority has always been male. Admittedly, this has been fixed over time, but it's still there.

    What indent button ;~;
  • It's to the left of the "indent left" button and has a blue arrow facing right in it.

Far out man. I was talked about without ever coming into the conversation.

    WHOOHOO.

My thoughts: Liking anything does not make it sexist. Making porn of this stuff is not sexist.  Making fanservice of this is where it gets hazy, depending on how equal opportunity it is, and how they handle it. Making this stuff and trying to pass it off like it is anything MORE than that, is where the train stops.

Even then, you could make an argument it's not so much sexist as it is a double standard, but both are equally undesirable, so yeah.
  • It is objectification, plain and simple. Objectification, just like bias, is not something you should ever feel guilty about, just something you should be aware of, and ponder about how you came to like it. It helps to prevent a person from reducing someone else to a set of traits instead of an individual. But with fantasy, everything's fair game.
  • You know what... I'm not even gonna bother touching this
