  • Alright the issue I encounter is that I'm not sure how to engineer a situation that would allow me to get to know specific people on this board in depth in order to form a meaningful friendship.  It gets to the point where I'm not sure if I have any friends here at all.
  • The thing is I would like to get to know many people here in depth and form meaningful friendships iwht them. The dilemma is not knowing how to do so.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
First of all, recognize that not everyone here wants to be your friend.

Here's a handy hint: Trying to psychoanalyze me will not help your case. You basically screwed yourself over there.
  • Sorry I just wanted to help.
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    Stay out of my head.
  • 1. As we've said before, the worshipping thing is kool, but try to keep it to one thread.
    2. Derailing is fine, but don't pop up in a random thread and post something kompletely unrelated.
    3. No offense, not trying to insult you, but you kome akross as desperate. Just try to tone that down a bit.
    4. I'm not going to tell you to fix your spelling, but if someone does, just know that they're not trying to insult you, they're trying to help you out. Don't lash out at them
    5. In most kases, it's not that great an idea to speak out against the moderation.
  • I'm on relatively good terms with people here as far as I know, but I don't think I'm really friends with anyone. I'm fine with that, really. I think people are better off trying to make friends IRL.

Sekonding Gelzo. It's just a little bit hard to really konnekt with people over the internet, and more often than not, it's not worth the effort. Just try to be more open with people IRL.
  • I tried telling them politely to leave that subject be. If it has to stay confined to one thread it will never be again that thread is never coming back.
  • Then so be it. It's hard to leave that subjekt be given how off-putting it is.
  • But that was the only thing keeping me from thinkin g about her.

This may sound callous, but that is not our problem.
  • is it really necessary to keep it to that topic? No leg room at all?
  • Its  not necessarily that they have been abused it's tht they have the potential to be. I generally worry when that potential is given int he first place.
  • "That's why we have multiple mods and admins, Tnu. They keep eatsh other in tzhek."
  • not worth the risk of all of them going bad low probobility is still over zero.
  • Systems can't be perfect. It's best to just go with it when the alternative is just shutting everything down or letting it go to shit.
  • The probability of everyone on earth spontaneously kombusting at the same time is also over zero, but there's no point worrying over that, as that's probably never going to happen.

I generally don't take probability in to account I presume that if it could happen best be concerned with it. Power is an especially tricky thing it will corrupt all eventually even GMH.
  • Then you understand why I'm constantly on edge around here?

We're not forcing you to stay here if it makes you uneasy.
  • Really i've got no place else to go is hte thing.

    -shrug-

Then stop complaining about an inherent part of a forum.
  • just this forum or all fora on the internet?
  • If you must eat a phoenix, boil it, do not roast it. This only encourages their mischievous habits.
    All fora on the internet.

    Even the 'Chans have moderators.

Really i've got no place else to go is hte thing.

How about outside? You know, like, to a town park or a lokal koffee shop or something? The internet shouldn't be your primary means of kommunikation / interaktion with other people.

just this forum or all fora on the internet?

    ...Seriously?
  • You know tht would be an interesting concept for a forum a forum with an administration based on enumerated powers.
  • Well a mix of Federalism and enumerated powers. potentially also democracy. it would be an interesting concept for a forum indeed. Also i'm afraid that's out ofthe question Bob.

Then leave, and set it up.
