    I got clothes, which I already have tons of... but I did get underpants, and you can never have enough of those (and socks, blessed socks. Didn't get any, though).


    Also, I guess it was funny to have the power go out and hear my cousins bitch and moan about the lack of air conditioner.

    My family is going to watch Alien tonight because none of us have seen it before. A Christmas movie if ever there was one.



    It's always been a family tradition in my family to watch action movies and TV series on Christmas. We're marathoning all of Firefly later, since we got the complete series for my dad.


     


    Anyway, I got:


    -The first Ghost in the Shell movie


    -4 BigViz volumes of Vagabond (So 12 regular volumes worth of Vagabond)


    -The last volume of Fullmetal Alchemist


    -Dopethrone by Electric Wizard


    -Nola by Down


    -Marrow of the Spirit and Faustian Echoes by Agalloch


    -A Frank Sinatra CD


    -A few vinyl records of Billy Joel, Chicago and various classical performances that my dad found at a goodwill.


    -A second External hard drive for work


    -A few textbooks for next semester: Mastering Audio by Bob Katz and The Csound Book by Richard Boulanger

    Man, my haul was kinda lame this year. I got



    -2 gift certificates for the comic shop

    -1 gift card for the bookstore

    -1 gift certificate for a nice local restaurant

    -body wash and deodorant(everybody got this. I think they must have had a coupon or something)

    -cat toys (kinda at a loss about this)



    Like, I'm not mad they got gift certificates. Just kind of bummed that my friends didn't just ask what kind of books and comics I like and try to surprise me. Hell, just snooping through my shelves would have let them make a decent guess.



    On the plus side, the food has been good and the socializing is fun enough.

    I always find gift cards a little disappointing, as I've said.


    Of course, lately I've just been telling my dad what I want.


    The gifts from my sister were cheaper but a lot more sweet because of that, I felt.
